"On February 24, 2025, the Federal Public Ministry (Ministério Público Federal – MPF) issued an update regarding "MPF recommends that Alibaba stops illegal metal mercury trade on its platform". The MPF recommended that Alibaba.com and associated companies take immediate measures to prevent the commercialization and importation of illegal mercury metal in Brazil within 30 days, removing all related ads and implementing technological barriers to stop Brazilian users from purchasing or receiving the product."
