On 05/12/2024, the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety issued an update regarding "More data on PFAS for better health protection". As part of this monitoring, 86 dried algae samples were tested for various PFAS compounds. The results show that four key PFAS compounds (PFOA, PFOS, PFNA, and PFHxS) exceeded the set limits in some samples, with PFOA and PFOS being the most commonly overstepped.
