MOHW: We will intensively manage excessive non-coverage of new articles, and continue to strengthen essential medical coverage for severe and rare diseases

On "02/20/2024", the "Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW)" announced plans to intensively manage excessive non-coverage of new articles, and continue to strengthen essential medical coverage for severe and rare diseases. The MOHW aims to enhance management of excessive non-coverage through monitoring and information provision, while also promoting standardization and reforming the insurance system. The government has invested approximately 1 trillion 450 billion KRW in healthcare services by December 2024 to address health disparities and improve medical coverage for vulnerable populations.
