Ministry of Labor and Employment rescues 59 workers in Paraíba

"On February 3-5, a coordinated action by the Mobile Special Enforcement Group (GEFM) of the Ministry of Labor and Employment conducted inspections in urban areas of Cabedelo and João Pessoa cities, resulting in the rescue of 59 workers subjected to conditions analogous to slavery in construction activities. Seven establishments were inspected, with five found to have working conditions similar to slavery." "Participating in the operation along with MTE were the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT), the Federal Public Ministry, and the Federal Police (PF). The rescued workers were from various municipalities in the interior of Paraíba."
