MDHC establishes National Human Rights Education and Culture Committee

The Comitu00ea Nacional de Educau00e7u00e3o e Cultura em Direitos Humanos was established through a decree signed by the President of Brazil, Luiz Inu00e1cio Lula da Silva, and the Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship, Silvio Almeida. The committee aims to advise on the formulation of public policies on education and culture in human rights, and will be composed of 21 representatives from government and civil society. The committee will be presided over by Letu00edcia Cesarino, Special Advisor on Education and Culture in Human Rights from MDHC. The members will be selected through a public call for applications, and will serve a two-year term.
