MDHC defines methodology for listening to entities and experts to construct the National Human Rights and Business Policy

The Brazilian Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship has published a methodology for the participation of civil society in the development of the National Policy on Human Rights and Companies. The Ministry has established a Group of Interministerial Work (GTI) to coordinate the process, which will involve two phases: the collection of studies and proposals for the policy, and the participation of specialists, entities, and other social segments. The GTI will meet regularly, and the Ministry will consult with experts and entities through a digital platform. The aim is to create a policy that promotes and defends human rights in business activities, and to establish measures for preventing violations, responsible behavior, and sanctions. The policy will also consider the perspectives of vulnerable groups, such as indigenous peoples and people with disabilities. The expected outcome is a comprehensive policy that will be presented to the Minister of Human Rights and Citizenship by August.
