Korea Introduces Fertility Preservation Support for Those Facing Permanent Infertility

On April 28, 2025, the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) introduced a fertility preservation support project for individuals facing permanent infertility. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance for egg or sperm freezing procedures, covering up to 50% of the costs incurred by eligible applicants. The project targets individuals with medical conditions that may lead to permanent infertility, such as surgery or chemotherapy. The maximum support amount for women is KRW 200 million, and for men, it is KRW 30 million.
