JTP Groundwork: Enabling renewable energy communities in JTF regions from the bottom up

On December 12, 2024, the European Commission - Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy issued an update regarding "JTP Groundwork: Enabling renewable energy communities in JTF regions from the bottom up". This initiative aimed to support community-owned renewable energy projects in Ireland's Midlands region by providing technical assistance, training local leaders on project management, and showcasing best practices from the EU. The training equipped local community leaders with knowledge on managing RECs, ownership models, funding options, and regulatory good practices, providing them with resources and connections to develop REC projects that benefit the region.
