INPI publishes Technological Radar on semiconductor patents

The Brazilian Institute of Intellectual Property (O INPI) has released a new edition of the Radar Tecnolu00c3u00b3gico series, focusing on the landscape of patents related to the semiconductor industry in Brazil. The study analyzed 627 patent applications deposited in Brazil between 2007 and 2023, with the top countries of origin being the United States, Brazil, Japan, and South Korea. In terms of domestic submissions, the state of Su00c3u00a3o Paulo stood out, with 40 patent applications, and the University of Su00c3u00a3o Paulo (USP) being the only Brazilian institution to appear in the list of major applicants. The study also examined Topografias de Circuitos Integrados, with 46 requests identified between 2007 and 2023, with 54.35% coming from juridical persons and 45.65% from physical persons.
