On March 12, 2024, the Brazilian Institute of Metrology, Quality, and Technology implemented a system to modernize laboratory accreditation. This update expanded technical competencies and allowed laboratories to include additional activities within their original scope of accreditation without prior validation by the accrediting organization, enabling them to offer more services and reduce costs.
