"On April 22, 2025, the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced an update to the "Law on Disability Welfare". The amendment obliges local authorities to automatically pay a maximum of ₩2.2 million (approximately $1,800 USD) per month in disability child allowance for children with disabilities who receive basic livelihood or medical aid."
