On March 20, 2025, Health Canada issued an update regarding Government of Canada signs bilateral agreement with Nova Scotia to improve access to drugs for rare diseases. The Honourable Kamal Khera and Michelle Thompson announced a $39 million investment to enhance access to selected new drugs, existing treatments, early diagnosis, and screening for Canadians living with rare diseases, affecting one in 12 people in Canada.
