On March 06, 2025, the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada issued an update regarding Government of Canada announces additional spectrum to support improved connectivity and innovative 5G applications. The government made millimetre wave spectrum available through the Non-Competitive Local Licensing Framework and an upcoming spectrum auction. This will enable service providers to offer new wireless services, improving network quality and promoting innovation in areas such as smart agriculture and industrial automation.
