"On 28/11/2024, the Ministry of Labour and Employment issued an update regarding GIG Workers in the country. As per NITI Aayog's report, India has 7.7 million gig workers and platform workers, including women, which is expected to rise to 23.5 million by 2029-30. The Code on Social Security, 2020 provides social security measures for these workers."
