On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the Geological Agency lowered Ibu's activity level to Level III (Alert) from previously Level IV (Warning). This decision was based on visual and instrumental monitoring data showing a decrease in volcanic activity. The agency reminded locals within a 4km radius and sectoral 5km zone around the crater to remain calm and take necessary precautions, such as using masks and eye protection when outdoors.
