Brief

"On April 9, 2025, the Federal Trade Commission issued an update regarding FTC Takes Action to Protect Workers from Noncompete Agreements. The FTC ordered pet cremation company Gateway Services, Inc. and its subsidiary to stop enforcing noncompete agreements against their employees, freeing nearly 1,800 workers from restrictive agreements that limit job mobility and wages. Under a proposed consent order, Gateway must immediately stop enforcing all existing noncompete agreements."
