Brief

Summary:

France's National Institute for Intellectual Property (INPI) and the General Secretariat for Investment (SGPI) have signed a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening knowledge of industrial property. The partnership focuses on two axes: (1) supporting coordinators and beneficiaries of the France 2030 plan by promoting industrial property consideration in their strategic roadmaps and operational priorities, and (2) assessing the impact of industrial property on the plan by measuring the number of intellectual property titles filed by beneficiaries. The partnership aims to increase the competitiveness of French companies and guarantee technological and economic sovereignty in the long term.

The objective of this partnership is to strengthen knowledge of industrial property by raising awareness among beneficiaries of the France 2030 plan on the one hand, and on the other hand to contribute to the evaluation of the plan through indicators linked to the use of industrial property. It is structured around two axes:

  • A first axis centered on support for coordinators and beneficiaries of France 2030. The objective is to strengthen the consideration of industrial property in their strategic roadmaps and operational priorities. Dedicated and reinforced support will be deployed for the winners of the French Tech 2030 program.
  •   A second axis dedicated to assessing the impact of industrial property on the France 2030 plan. This will involve, on the one hand, integrating the use of industrial property as a tool for detecting and guiding the strategies of the France 2030 plan, and on the other hand measuring the number of industrial property titles (notably the patents) filed by beneficiaries (companies, research laboratories, etc.) thanks to the support of the plan.

« The objective of France 2030 is to increase the competitiveness of French companies in order to guarantee our technological and economic sovereignty in the long term. The INPI is proud to be able to actively participate in the collective effort by putting its expertise in industrial property at the service of this great ambition.. ” said Pascal Faure, Director General of the INPI.

« Intellectual property is an essential tool of sovereignty and excellence. This partnership will allow the France 2030 winners to become aware of it and to be able to use it as a competitiveness tool. ” said Bruno Bonnell, Secretary General of the SGPI.
