Florida Businessman Sentenced in Connection with Migrant Labor Employment Scheme, Payroll Tax Evasion, and Worker Death

"On February 20, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice (Environment and Natural Resources Division) issued an update regarding Florida Businessman Sentenced in Connection with Migrant Labor Employment Scheme, Payroll Tax Evasion, and Worker Death. A Florida man was sentenced to 48 months in prison and ordered to forfeit over $5.5 million for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and willful violation of a workplace standard that resulted in employee death. He was also required to pay over $55 million in restitution."
