Federal Revenue retains 156 kg of cocaine in the port of Paranaguá

On May 5, 2025, the Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) retrieved 156.50 kg of cocaine at the Terminal de Contêineres in Paranaguá's port on Brazil's Paranense coast. The illicit substance was concealed within a shipment of wood slated for export to Australia and was identified using a portable scanner with high penetration capabilities. This operation brings the total amount of seized cocaine at the port to 419.50 kg this year, following a record 1.3 ton of cocaine retenção in 2024.
