On October 2, 2024, the U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security issued an update regarding "Expansion of Validated End User Authorization: Data Center Validated End User Authorization". This rule amends the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to expand the Validated End User Authorization (VEU) program to include VEU Authorization for data centers located in specified destinations, referred to as Data Center VEU.
