Brief

Summary:

The Employment Equity Act (EEA) has been amended, but it is not yet effective, and employers will still report on their 2023 obligations using the current legislation. The 2023 EE reporting season opens on September 1, 2023, and will close on January 15, 2024. The Director of Employment Equity advises employers to use the current legislation for reporting, as the proclamation notice for the effective date of the EE Amendment Act, 2022, is still pending. The amended EE Regulations and final sector EE targets will be published once the proclamation notice is issued.
