Electrical waste: reforming the producer responsibility system

On October 12, 2024, the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs issued an update regarding Electrical waste: reforming the producer responsibility system. The consultation received 320 responses, which informed our government response outlining next steps and future direction for reforms of the producer responsibility system for waste electricals. The response sets out our approach to implementing key proposals, including strengthening producers' responsibilities and increasing recycling rates, with a focus on achieving environmental benefits while minimizing administrative burdens.
