ED, Delhi Zonal Office received information on 22-10-2024 at about 12 PM that some people posing as ED officers were conducting a fake ED search at Ashoka Avenue, DLF Farms, Chattarpur, Delhi. It was also informed that the fake ED officers have taken the victim to Kotak bank, Hauz Khas to withdraw Rs. 5 Crore from the bank account of the victim so that the same can be taken away in the name of ED raid. FIR has been registered by Delhi Police

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) Delhi Zonal Office received information on October 22, 2024, at approximately 12 PM regarding individuals posing as ED officers conducting a fake raid at Ashoka Avenue, DLF Farms, Chattarpur, Delhi. The victims were allegedly taken to Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hauz Khas, to withdraw Rs. 5 crore from their bank account in the name of an ED raid. Upon receiving this information, a team was immediately dispatched to the bank, and the jurisdictional police station and higher police officers were alerted.

At the bank, it was discovered that the lawyer of the victim had reached and questioned the fake ED officers about their identification cards. The individuals became suspicious of being caught and fled before the gates could be closed by the Bank Manager. Further investigation revealed that 7 people visited the victim's house the previous night in two cars, claiming to be ED officers. They threatened the victim with arrest unless they agreed to pay crores of rupees.

The next day, the fake ED officers took the victim to Kotak Mahindra Bank to withdraw money, but the victim managed to message his lawyer, who arrived at the bank and questioned the individuals about the raid, causing them to flee. The Delhi Police immediately recorded the victim's statement and registered an FIR. The cars used by the suspects were seized, and further investigation is ongoing.
