On "15/01/2025", the "Enforcement Directorate (ED)" issued an update regarding "ED, Chennai Zonal Office has provisionally attached two immovable properties worth Rs. 100.92 Crore (approx.) on 9/01/2025 under the provisions of the PMLA, 2002 in connection with the case against R. Vaithilingam, MLA, former Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Tamil Nadu". The provisional attachment is linked to allegations that R. Vaithilingam accepted a bribe of Rs. 27.90 Crore from M/s Shriram Properties & Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. during his tenure as the Minister.
