Dismantling an illegal network of Civelles traffic in Vendée and Charente-Maritime

On March 18, 2025, an operation was conducted by the Office Central de Lutte contre Les Atteintes à l'Environnement et la Santé Publique (OCLAESP), Office Français de la Biodiversité (OFB), and Gendarmerie to dismantle a network of professional fishermen in Vendée and Charente-Maritime. Seven individuals were apprehended, including five professionals with prior judicial documentation, and placed under house arrest, as well as seizing several clandestine fishponds and assets estimated at tens of thousands of euros.
