Brief

The Reserve Bank of India issued Directions under Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, to The Suri Friends' Union Co-operative Bank Ltd., Suri, West Bengal. The original directives were issued for a period of six months up to January 22, 2023, and were later extended until October 22, 2024. As per the RBI's exercise of powers under sub-section (1) of Section 35A read with Section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, the new extension period is for a further three months from the close of business on October 22, 2024, to January 22, 2025. All other terms and conditions of the original directive remain unchanged.
