On January 30, 2025, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) issued an update regarding "CRTC takes action to help bring fibre Internet to three communities in British Columbia and the Yukon". The CRTC is committing over $14 million to CityWest Cable and Telephone Corp. to build new transport fibre infrastructure, improving access to reliable and high-quality Internet service for over 1,000 households.
