"On November 25, 2024, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) released an update regarding Construction Labor Supply and Demand Survey Results (October 2024 Survey). The survey, conducted from October 10-20, 2024, found a significant shortage in construction labor across the country and particularly in the Tohoku region. The nationwide shortage rate increased to 2.3% in October, up 0.7 percentage points from September."
