On April 2-3, 2025, the Comissão Nacional de Biodiversidade (Conabio) held its 74th ordinary meeting in Brasília. The Conabio was tasked with analyzing proposals for updating the national list of species threatened with extinction within a 60-day period, following recommendations from the Instituto Chico Mendes and Jardim Botânico do Rio de Janeiro. This update aims to include new species and remove outdated ones, while also incorporating fungi into the classification system.
