CGU imposes fine and declares vaccine company investigated by Covid’s CPI unsuitable

The Controladoria-Geral da Uniu00e3o (CGU) has fined and ruled Davati Medical Supply LLC as non-compliant for presenting invalid proposals to the Ministry of Health. The proposals, which aimed to sell up to 400 million doses of Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine, were deemed fraudulent as the manufacturer did not authorize any representative to sell the vaccines in Brazil. The CGU investigation found that the company, along with its representatives, had engaged in negotiations with Ministry officials, including reuniu00f5es and email exchanges. The CGU imposed a fine of R$ 80,900.45, declared the company non-compliant for public bidding and contracts, and ordered publication of the decision.

Additionally, the CGU fined and declared non-compliant the Secretaria de Assuntos Humanitu00e1rios (SENHA), Instituto Foru00e7a Brasil (IFB), and Escritu00f3rio Ju00falio Caron Advogados for facilitating and intermediating the fraudulent proposal, and ordered publication of the decision. These entities were also fined R$ 6,000.00 each.
