Brief
Summary:
On October 19th, the General Comptroller of the Union (CGU) held the 2nd National Meeting of the Promotion of Private Integrity Network. The Network aims to promote and standardize the application of the Anti-Corruption Law (Law No. 12,846/2013) across the three levels of federal government, through the dissemination of knowledge, good practices, and integrated strategies for promoting integrity in the private sector. The meeting was attended by representatives from 12 states and 7 municipalities. The Network's objectives include creating a shared knowledge base, promoting a participatory and favorable environment for sharing knowledge and capacity-building, and promoting integrated and technical cooperation among participating units.
During the meeting, two working groups were established: one to standardize the regulations of the new Public Procurement and Contract Law (Law No. 14,133/2021), and another to create a protocol for negotiations and signing of leniency agreements in coordination with the CGU and other federal, state, and municipal entities. The CGU also emphasized the importance of aligning the protocols for leniency agreements.
Additionally, the meeting featured presentations on the experience of Rio Grande do Sul in evaluating programs for corporate integrity, and the CGU's understanding of the possibility of reaching organizations through the Anti-Corruption Law. Several entities, including the Controladoria-Geral do Rio de Janeiro, Controladoria-Geral do Rio Grande do Sul, and Controladoria-Geral de Belo Horizonte, formally joined the Network.
The adhesion process to the Network consists of three stages: signing of the Adhesion Term by the representative of the entity, evaluation by the Secretariat-Executive, approval by the General Assembly, and finally, signature of the Adhesion Term by the representative of the collaborator.
