"On 15 November 2024, the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment issued an update regarding Call for public comment following the publication of the draft notice prohibiting certain activities involving African lion (Panthera leo). The proposed prohibition relates to the establishment and registration of new captive breeding facilities, commercial exhibition facilities or rehabilitation facilities, excluding existing permits and sanctuaries."
