The Superintendu00eancia-Geral do Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econu00f4mica (SG/Cade) has approved the purchase of Amil, a Brazilian health insurance company currently owned by United Health Group, by a Brazilian investor. The Amil group operates medical-hospital plans and odontological plans individually, family, and collectively, and has hospitals and medical centers across Brazil. The buyer has activities in financial and real estate investments. The SG/Cade considered the deal a mere substitution of economic agent, as the buyer does not have indirect participation in other companies active in markets related to Amil's operations, and thus approved the operation without restrictions. The deal is still subject to approval by the Agu00eancia Nacional de Sau00fade Suplementar (ANS), and if no appeals are made, the decisions will have a terminating effect.
