On November 9, 2024, a research team led by Professor Kim Sang-ryong at Kookmin University and colleagues published a study in Stem Cell Research & Therapy. The researchers found that human mesenchymal stem cells injected into mice with Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2 (SCA2) significantly improved motor function and prevented neurodegeneration, offering new hope for treating this incurable disease.
