Blog: CISA Hosts Second Cyber Resilient 911 Symposium

On February 1, 2024, the Cyber Resilient 911 (CR911) Program's second regional symposium was held in the Southeast region, bringing together 911 administrators, IT/cyber communities, Statewide Interoperability Coordinators (SWICs), and other stakeholders. The event aimed to enhance nationwide interoperability and strengthen stakeholder relationships, especially in emergency communication systems like 911. Speakers presented on the current cyber threat landscape and shared resources to enhance the cybersecurity posture of Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs). The symposium covered topics such as cyber resilience in the 911 ecosystem, best practices for responding to cyberattacks, and available program resources for each region. The event concluded with a tabletop discussion on a simulated cyberattack scenario.
