At the request of the French government, the Autorité will issue an opinion on the margins of wholesale importers and distributors of basic food items in Martinique

"On 29 January 2025, the Autorité de la concurrence received a request from the French Overseas Territories and Economy Ministers for an opinion on wholesale importers' and distributors' margins in Martinique. The request follows an agreement to combat high living costs in Martinique by increasing food pricing transparency. The Autorité will analyse price setting and margin determination along the entire retail value chain, making recommendations as deemed useful.
