Appointment of Head of Payments Settlements Department

Sarah Harris has been appointed as the new Head of Payments Settlements at the Reserve Bank of Australia, effective November 13, 2023. She previously held the role of Deputy Head of Payments Settlements at the Reserve Bank and has over 13 years of experience in the finance industry. In her new position, Harris will oversee the operation of the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS), a real-time gross settlement system, and will be responsible for the settlement of high-value payments and interbank obligations. She will report directly to Michelle McPhee, Assistant Governor, Business Services.
