Anatel approves the implementation of local STFC areas and postponed public numbering and portability of SCM

On July 7, 2025, the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) approved the implementation schedule for new local areas of the Fixed Telephone Service Comutado (STFC). The decision also postponed the start of public numbering and portability of the Multimídia Communication Service (SCM) to 2027. This will ensure a smooth transition, with the implementation of new STFC areas occurring in nine stages between January and June 2026.
