AER consults on Ergon Energy’s Mareeba and Charters Towers ring-fencing waiver application

On 03/12/2024, Ergon Energy applied to the AER for a renewed waiver from functional separation requirements. The requested waiver would allow co-location and shared branding between Ergon Energy and its related entities at the Mareeba and Charters Towers offices, with staff providing any contestable service, unlike the current conditions which restrict services to network infrastructure and metering. The new waiver would expire on 30/06/2045, and stakeholders are invited to provide written submissions by 07/05/2025.
