"On March 21, 2025, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) approved $167.3 million in capital expenditure for TasNetworks to undertake early works on stage 1 of the North West Transmission Developments (NWTD). This decision will result in an estimated increase of $5 per annum in residential electricity bills in Tasmania from 2025-26 to 2028-29, with costs added to TasNetworks' total maximum allowed revenue."
