ACMA invites comments on Australia’s telecommunications numbering plan and other instruments

On February 7, 2025, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) released a new draft Numbering Plan and Portability Suppliers Determination for public consultation. The proposed changes aim to modernize Australia's telecommunications numbering plan, introducing new number ranges for internet of things services, classifying mobile numbers as their own type, and removing redundant or low-use number types and ranges.
