Summary:

The Brazilian Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) has announced that the 2024 version of the International Patent Classification (ICP) is now available on their portal. The ICP is published in three languages: Portuguese, English, and French. The 2024 version has 1,936 modified groups, 338 new sub-divisions, 511 reformulated groups, and 29 deleted symbols. Notable changes include updates to groups B01J35 on catalyst properties and G06T3 on geometric image transformations. The INPI coordinated the review of these groups with the World Intellectual Property Organization (OMPI). The full list of changes can be accessed on the RCL page at http://ipc.inpi.gov.br/.
