18 national standards for greenhouse gas emission accounting will be implemented from April

On April 1, 2023, the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) issued an update regarding 18 national standards for greenhouse gas emission accounting. This batch of standards covers multiple key industries, including casting, non-ferrous metals, chemical engineering, building materials, mining, machinery, transportation, agriculture, electric power, food processing, and waste treatment. These standards focus on clarifying the boundaries and requirements for enterprises to account for their carbon emissions, providing a standardized path for accurate calculation and reporting. The implementation of these standards will help enterprises identify high-carbon areas, implement targeted energy-saving and emission-reduction measures, promote green and low-carbon technology applications, and facilitate green and low-carbon transformation.
