SIU authorised to investigate ECRDA

President Cyril Ramaphosa has signed Proclamation R147 of 2024, authorizing the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to investigate allegations of serious maladministration in the Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA). The SIU will investigate procurement irregularities, financial losses, and unlawful conduct by officials and suppliers, with a scope covering a period from February 2020 to January 2024.
