MMA and MRE present the G20 Environmental and Climate Sustainability GT to society

Summary:

The Brazilian Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) have presented the Group of Sustainability and Environmental Climate (GTE) at the G20 Social initiative. The aim is to engage society in discussing environmental and climate sustainability issues. The Minister of Environment, Marina Silva, and the Secretary for Climate, Energy, and the Environment, Andru00e9 Corru00eaa do Lago, presented the group and responded to questions from representatives of organizations and social movements. The group is focused on four thematic axes: adaptation and emergency response to extreme climate events, valuation and preservation of ecosystem services, oceans, and waste and circular economy. The Brazilian presidency of the G20 will prioritize the fight against poverty, and the reduction of emissions to address social and climate issues.
