CGU and Federal Police investigate misappropriation of resources in Piauí and Maranhão

The investigation began in 2020, based on audits of contracts executed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, which revealed a suspicious company and subsequent identification of other companies and individuals acting in a coordinated manner to win public contracts, allegedly with inflated prices. The investigation has uncovered payments to public agents and money laundering, leading to a total of 34 search and seizure warrants executed in Piauu00ed and Maranhu00e3o. The operation aims to prevent financial losses and ensure public services are provided effectively in the education and health sectors.
