On September 3, 2025, the Department of Climate Change issued an update regarding Australia and Germany strengthening hydrogen ties under H2Global. The joint tender is a double-sided auction scheme designed to support international renewable hydrogen industry supply and demand. It aims to bring forward renewable hydrogen projects and build supply chains between Australia and Europe, giving Australian producers a chance to export to large European markets and helping bridge the cost gap between production and sales prices.
