Brazil begins process of defining voluntary goals to neutralize land degradation

On August 21, Brazil initiated a process to define and implement its national goals for Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN). This initiative is aligned with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA) coordinated the effort, which aims to achieve LDN targets by 2030.
