On August 01, 2025, the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) issued an update regarding The CRE publishes its first evaluation of public energy service charges for 2026 and its reassessment for 2025: confirmation of return to pre-crisis dynamics. The CRE reported a 10.9 billion euros increase in charges to be compensated in 2025, mainly due to lower market prices, and an estimated 12.94 billion euros in charges to be compensated in 2026, with 9.7 billion euros supported by the state budget.
