On August 25, Norwegian carbon capture project started into operation. Shell, Equinor, and Total Energies were partners in this project, which is part of Longship Carbon Capture and Storage Project aiming to commercialize CCS by reducing CO2 emissions in sectors dependent on fossil fuels. Companies announced that CO2 was stored 8,530 feet below the ocean floor, a significant milestone for CCS, as stated by Equinor CEO Anders Opedal.
